TomTom GO 520TomTom GO 520

New from TomTom comes the TomTom GO 520 - which is a mid-range satellite navigation system.

Improvements in technology over time have resulted in the next generation of systems affering far superior GPS capabilities and features compared to the forerunners of the industry which were released earlier this century.

The TomTom GO 520 is housed in a stylish and practical case making it easy to carry and store - ideal for switching between vehicles for maximum usability.

In addition to the usual TomTom touch-screen menu systems with which we are all familiar, the next generation of satnav systems now allow the user to input destinations by voice - the new TomTom GO 520 has voice-recognition capabilities - ideal for those who don't like using the touch-screen menu's and for making life easier when using the system out on the road. Simply state the destination you wish to visit and the TomTom 520 will quickly locate and navigate you to your chosen destination or location.

The system can be powered direct from the in-car cigarette lighter or hard-wired into the vehicles electrical system. The GO 520 comes with a built-in battery making it the ideal travelling companion as it can quickly and easily be transferred between vehicles or even used on foot.

Entering destinations is simpler than ever - the user has the choice of entering a full address, using full postcode lookup or by choosing the centre of a town or city. A large points of interest database is also included allowing the user to quickly find local shops, hospitals, hotels, tourist attractions etc.

No installation is needed - the new TomTom GO 520 is ready to go straight out of the box - no need to connect it to a PC to install maps or software - just plug and go.

If you're new to satellite navigation then there is no need to worry. The system comes with a built-in range of comprehensive tutorials to help you master the system quickly and easily."

Text to Speech" is a great feature whereby the system can tell you which road to turn into - "turn left into Clarence Road ". This feature alone makes the TomTom GO 520 a great purchase. A safer journey will result from this feature as the user will not have to keep looking at the satnav's screen trying to work out which road to turn into.

The GO 520 has a bright, clear 4.3-inch wide-screen with touch-screen operation including as standard. The screen has a built-in light sensor for optimal brightness and the anti-glare coating helps to ensure the screen is visible in the brightest of conditions.

Real-time traffic information can really enhance the quality of your journey by coupling the GO 520 with the TMC Traffic Information Receiver. The live traffic information will allow the vehicle to be quickly re-routed around congested roads ahead.

The TomTom GO 520 comes with comprehensive mapping data pre-installed allowing for door-to-door navigation across the whole of your chosen region. In the UK the Go 520 comes with mapping data for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

This is a great satnav system and well worth the on.
