TomTom GO 500

The TomTom GO 500 is a mid-range satellite navigation system which has been around for a couple of years now. The GO 500 is ready to use straight out of the box. A vehicle mount is included to fix the unit to the windscreen or dashboard.

TomTom GO 500 features a built-in GPS receiver and rechargeable battery which provide precise satellite navigation whilst allowing the unit to be easily switched between vehicles.

The TomTom GO 500 comes with detailed mapping of the UK as well as the major roads of Europe, all pre-installed on an SD memory card making it an ideal purchase for those who will predominantly be driving in the UK but may wish to use the system to navigate between towns on the continent whilst on holiday or business.

TomTom GO 500 is voice-communication capable which allows it to be used as a hands-free kit with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The driver can take and make calls whilst navigating. The GO 500 routes calls automatically from your mobile phone through the integrated speaker and microphone.

The touch-screen menu is simple to use and routes can easily be programmed into the GO 500.

The unit features a 3.5-inch colour touch-screen which gives excellent visibility in any situation from bright sunlight to low-light conditions.

The user can choose between 3D and 2D map views. The screen can also display Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), Distance to travel, time left to travel, distance to next turn point as well as a compass.

Powered by a Lithium-ion battery, the unit can be easily transferred between vehicles with an in-car adapter also being provided.
