Navman iCN750
The new Navman iCN750 is a real breakthrough in in-car navigation in 2006.
In line with other satellite navigation systems in the Navman range it is now possible to store locations as pictures. The Navman iCN750 allows you to store and identify your destinations as pictures.
The iCN 750 has a built-in 4GB hard-drive on which the geo-tagged pictures (known as NavPix) are stored. A separate SD/MMC memory expansion slot is also built into the unit allowing the storage capacity of the Navman iCN750 to be expanded if necessary.
The iCN750 has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera built-in to the unit. When a picture is taken it is "geo-tagged" which means the location of the picture is digitally stored in the file with its latitude and longitude. These pictures can then be shared between users to navigate to places of interest.
Additional geo-tagged pictures can also be imported by connecting the iCN750 to a PC using a USB cable.
The 4-inch wide colour screen allows the pictures to be viewed and street-level maps of Europe are included with the unit. The iCN750 comes with "Fuel" and "Park" buttons as standard. These allow the user to quickly locate nearby car parking and fuel as well as a "Home" button for quickly navigating back to home or the office.
The optional T1 Traffic Pack allows for real-time motoring and traffic information updates to be received. Once the T1 unit has been purchased no additional subscription payments have to be made. The information is received by the iCN750 in the RDS-TMC format and this data is broadcast free of charge.
Entering destinations is simple. Full UK postcodes can be entered, as well as streets and towns, and the user can also plan for multiple destinations in advance of commencing their journey. If the user should accidentally go off the pre-planned route then the Back-on-Track will automatically calculate a new optimum route to the initial destination.
A Points of Interest (POI) database with thousands of entries is included and additional POI's can be added by linking the iCN750 to a PC. The iCN750's keypad is backlit and the unit can be operated in an anti-glare night mode to avoid eye-strain on the driver.
The unit comes with a built-in battery allowing the unit to be easily transferred between vehicles.
Voice-guided instructions take the driver to their chosen destination and the route can be viewed in the following modes:
Turn-by-Turn
3D Moving map
2D mini map
Next manoeuvre
Tele Atlas map data is used in conjunction with SmartST 2006 navigation software.
This is a professional, smart satellite navigation system which adds a new dimension to in-car navigation.
