Navman iCN650
The Navman iCN650 is a professional, in-car GPS satellite navigation unit.
The iCN650 usually comes with street-level mapping for United Kingdom and Europe - these maps comes stored on a CD in the box - check with your retailer to ensure you're receiving the correct mapping data for your requirements.
The unit is housed in a tough aluminium casing to protect the unit from damage during normal day-to-day use. Included are a computer data cable, windscreen mount, cigarette power adapter, carry case, 240V mains adapter, remote control and a user guide.
In common with other satnav systems in the Navman range, the iCN650 is powered by Navman's proven SmartST navigation software with street-level mapping for 16 European countries. The unit comes ready to use straight out of the box - no need to install software or maps.
The unit has a built-in 2GB hard drive for storing maps, a database containing over a million Points of Interest (POI's) as well as user-defined POI's and Favourite destinations.
The Points of Interest (POI) database contains details of such locations as petrol station, hotels, hospitals, post offices, cashpoints etc. Use the system to find a local amenity and the iCN650 will quickly navigate the driver to their chosen destination.
The unit comes with a colour screen. The unit is controlled using the buttons on the unit or the supplied remote control. A flip-up antenna is used in conjunction with the internal GPS receiver to enhance reception of the GPS satellite signals.
Voice-guided, turn by turn directions are and the internal speaker is makes this an all-in-one more than capable of being transferred between vehicles.
Dynamic routing is also included - should you miss a turn then the unit will automatically recalculate a new, optimised route to get you to your original destination based on your position at that time.
If the user is aware of a hold-up on a particular stretch of road, they can instruct the iCN650 to avoid that part of the route. The iCN650 will then take this information into consideration when calculating the route for the planned journey.
Programming the unit is simple, either enter the town, road or address. Alternatively the user can search for destinations using 5-digit postcode entry.
This unit is ideal for those who travel frequently as well as those who may have a need for navigation on the continent.
