Navman iCN550

The Navman iCN550 is a comprehensive satnav GPS system. It is powered by the SmartST™ professional mapping software and is packed with useful features to make any journey more enjoyable and less stressful.

The case of the iCN550 comes with "fuel" and "park" buttons - making it easy to locate the nearest petrol station or car park when out driving. The data for these buttons forms part of the Points of Interest (POI) database - a large database detailing various different types of amenity such a hospitals, hotels, petrol station, recreational areas etc.

Points of Interest are a quick and easy way of locating an amenity close to the user's current location - simply choose, say, a post office, and the Navman iCN550 will locate the nearest one to your present location and then navigate you to it.

Navman say that the user can download speed camera databases, other points of interest (POI) and additional maps and map data via the PC connection. POI databases are available on the internet. You can also import your own points-of-interest personalising your iCN 550 with your own favourite petrol stations, safety cameras, sports grounds, restaurants and so on.

Voice-guided navigation, touch screen and a remote control are included as standard. An optional “Traffic Module” warns you in advance of traffic congestion ahead and allows you to choose alternative routes.

A new feature of the SmartST™ software are "Active POI's". This function sets an alert for when you approach a particular POI.

Planning a journey is straight-forward. The Navman iCN-550 provides excellent journey planning information. The iCN550 provides the following journey information - Expected Time of Arrival (ETA), Distance to go, Distance to next turn and estimated Time remaining. This information is automatically updated as the journey progresses.

The unit comes as standard with a built-in rechargeable battery and 12-channel GPS satnav receiver. The system is truly self-contained and can be easily transferred between vehicles for ultimate flexibility.

The system uses 5-digit postcode address search, 3D map and mini-map view, Back-on-track™ rerouting and 'Avoid area' traffic avoidance.

Another great feature of the SmartST™ software is multi-stop journey routing functionality. This allows the user to plan a route from A to B to C and so on.

The unit comes with a large 4GB hard drive built-in for storing favourite destinations, POI databases etc.
