Navman F20

The Navman F20 satnav system provides affordable in-car navigation. The Navman F20 is ready to use straight out of the box. All maps are pre-installed and there is no need to link the system to a personal computer before first use. The F20 unit has an anti-glare 3.5-inch colour screen which allows access to the intuitive touch-screen menu system - controlling the F20 is straight-forward.

The SiRFstar III GPS receiver technology used in the F20 provides navigational accuracy to within 5 metres for the majority of the time. The system is utilises SmartST navigation software to process the Tele Atlas 2006 mapping information.

The Navman F20 comes complete with an in-car power connector and the internal li-ion rechargeable battery gives up to 3.5 hours of use, ideal for programming the unit outside of the vehicle to commencing your journey or for transferring the system between vehicles to provide maximum flexibility.

The Navman F20's case houses "Park" and "Fuel" buttons - useful for finding the nearest petrol and car parking - the two most often used points of interest (poi's). Points of interest can also be added to and the system is also compatible with a speed camera database. The on-screen menu makes it easy to navigate to "home" and "recent destinations" at the touch of a few buttons. Postcode search facility makes it simple to pinpoint a destination during the planning stage.

Real-time traffic information can be accessed through the optional T1 Traffic Information module. The T1 traffic pack module receives real-time traffic information via RDS-TMC. The F20, when coupled with the T1 Traffic Pack, will show details of traffic hold-ups and congestion local to your current position and will also prompt you to re-route around this congestion to make your journey less stressful and time-consuming.

"Pause Journey" is unique to the F20 - allowing the user to temporarily stop navigating - say for a lunch-break - and the recommence their journey at a later time.

It is possible to store Points of Interest and Favourite destinations on the Navman F20. The system comes with multiple routing options - shortest trip, fastest trip, nearest Point of Interest etc.

The Navman F20 gives voice-guided, turn-by-turn instructions as you would expect in a system like this from Navman.

This is a fantastic introduction to satellite navigation for the price and will not disappoint.
