Mitac Mio 269+

The Mitac Mio 269/269+ has an integrated GPS satellite receiver allowing the 269+ to be easily moved from one vehicle to another.

All mapping comes pre-loaded on the 2.5GB internal hard drive and is ready to use straight out of the box. It is possible to add additional storage to the 269+ in the form of SD memory cards and Mitac say the 269+ can take SD cards upto 1GB in size which proves to be valuable additional storage.

The MioMap CE software is based on Navigon's Mobile Navigator 4 software and the unit can be controlled with both touch-screen menu controls and the unit's own buttons.

The Mio 269+ comes with a large Points of Interest database covering a broad range of locations such as hotels, petrol stations, hospitals, etc.

Clear turn-by-turn voice instructions are given via the units' built-in speaker system. The Mio 269+ also has a rechargeable Li-Ion battery allowing it to be operated outside of the vehicle, for pre-trip planning or for transferring to another vehicle altogether. It is also possible to input multiple destinations - ideal for planning a route where the user has to make a variety of stops.

The Mio 269+ also comes preloaded with mp3 playing software - providing music on the move. Up to 500MB of the internal hard-drive is available for storing mp3 files and this can be expanded further using the SD memory card slot.

The unit comes boxed with an external GPS antenna, in-car charger (cigarette lighter), AC adapter for use outside the vehicle, USB cable and suction-based windscreen mount, carry case, earphones, remote control and a bicycle mount.
