Michelin X930 from ViaMichelin
New from ViaMichelin comes the Michelin X930 satellite navigation system.
The ViaMichelin X930 is ready to use straight out of the box. It is just a matter of plugging in the car power lead, attaching the satnav mount and away you go. The system housing is compact and light. The touch-screen menu system and function keys make the X930 simple and straightforward to operate.
The X930 has an in-built GPS satellite navigation receiver which is based on the cutting-edge SIRF Star III technology - no external aerial is required. Continuous advances in GPS receiver technology make today's satnav receivers even more accurate and quick to fix a position.
The X930 comes with a 3.5 inch colour LCD screen. The anti-glare screen ensures the user can see the system, even in bright sunlight. The unit has an internal li-ion rechargeable battery giving approximately 5 hours of use without attaching to a power source making the X930 ideal for transferring between vehicles.
The X930 is of robust construction yet is flexible enough to be transferred from one car to another so the whole family can benefit from sharing the system.
In common with other ViaMichelin systems - such as the Michelin X950-T - and almost exclusively for satnav systems, the X930 contains tourist information from the Michelin Green Guide and the Michelin Guide 2006. For recreational drivers and tourists this is an invaluable feature making the X930 not just satellite navigation system but also a tourist information and accommodation system.
Thousands of Points of Interest (POI's) are also included in addition to the information taken from the Michelin Green Guide.
The "history" function of the X930 stores the last 10 destinations entered allowing the user to quickly revisit recent destinations.
The system comes ready to use straight out of the box, together with UK maps pre-loaded on an SD memory card, a car mounting bracket, mains and cigarette lighter power adapters.
The ViaMichelin navigation data is stored on a CD-Rom and a USB cable for connecting the unit to a personal computer is also included.
The X930 marks the next step in in-car satellite navigation as systems evolve to become more than just satellite navigation systems.
