Magellan Satnav Systems

The Magellan Systems Corporation was initially founded in 1986 in California, USA.

The original company merged with Ashtech Corporation in 1997 to become Magellan Corp. This company was bought by the Thales Group in 2001 and was subsequently merged with a subsidiary to become Thales Navigation combining four leading brands - MLR, DSNP, Magellan and Ashtech.

Ready to use straight out of the box, the RoadMate 300 comes with voice-prompted directions and a large Points of Interest database. The RoadMate 300 can store a large number of destinations and also has an "instant location" facility to pintpoint current location in the event of the vehicle breaking down.

Magellan RoadMate 700

The RoadMate 700 is ideal for drivers who have to drive regularly in Europe - the RoadMate 700 comes preinstalled with mapping for 25 European countires - check mapping at time of purchase as mapping data does change. A points of interest database of over 750,000 amenities. A very competent performer.

Magellan RoadMate 800

A great system - the RoadMate 800 can optimise multiple destinations - ideal for professional drivers. The RoadMate 800 will calculate the optimum order in which to visit each destination. The RM800 has 4.5GB of internal memory and can be expanded using SD/MMC memory cards for storing maps as well as MP3's and pictures. The RoadMate 800 has over 1 million Points of Interest stored in it's database.
