 Garmin StreetPilot C330
The Garmin StreetPilot C330 is towards the top end of the Garmin StreetPilot range and is ideal for both professional and leisure drivers alike.
The Garmin StreetPilot C330 is easy to use straight out of the box and the system is controlled using the intuitive touch-screen menu. It comes pre-programmed with the MapSource city software and maps. The user can choose between 3D and 2D maps - all images are clear and bright thanks to quality of the screen on the C330 which is 3.5 inches wide.
Securing the unit to the vehicle is simple - the unit comes with a suction cup mounting system and the unit housing contains a built-in GPS antenna so there really is no need for any external cabling to be installed. Combining this with the voice-prompted turn-by-turn instructions makes for a comfortable trip. The voice-guided instructions are clear thanks to the dual integrated speakers.
The unit has a built-in rechargeable battery. This allows the unit to be removed from the vehicle for planning routes in advance or to be transferred between vehicles for additional flexibility - such as allowing a family to share a unit between several drivers/vehicles.
In common with the other Garmin units not only does the unit come pre-loaded with a “Points of Interest” database, such as airports, post offices, petrol stations etc. you can also upload customized POI lists such as speed camera and school safety zones. Adding databases is quick and simple using the free POILoader software which can be downloaded free of charge from the Garmin website.
Destinations are entered using the touch-screen controls and the system automatically calculates a new route for your journey if you should accidentally stray of track or turn off the route due to a hold-up ahead such as a traffic accident or roadworks.
The c-series range provides state of the art in-car navigation with such features as automatic route re-calculation, both three- and two-dimensional moving maps and turn-by-turn voice instructions.
