Satellite navigation is just one of these things - the ability to quickly and easily find your way to any location is a fantastic aid - no need to keep stopping to consult roadmaps or read roadsigns in the dark or bad weather!

In-car satellite navigation is a relatively new technology yet the industry has come such a long way in a relatively short period of time. Older systems tended to be a little unreliable - oh how times have changed.

Modern satnav systems are fast to locate satellite signals when first turned on, are able to quickly recalculate new routes if the user should accidently go off course and some systems can even navigate when they are temporarily unable to receive satellite information - such as driving through tunnels, forests and in built-up areas.

We are now seeing the next generation in satnav systems coming through.

Some systems can take digital pictures and store them as favourite destinations. Many systems have MP3 players built-in. Some systems can be used on foot.
